PURPOSE OF THE CLUB
The purpose of the club shall be to provide, regulate, manage & promote Balmain Wanderers as both a football and social club.
COMMITTEE
The committee shall consist of five members voted annually at the AGM.
Positions
Chairman Chair of all committee and club meetings, votes only in case of a tied proposal.
Secretary Official league contact, handling of match details and player registrations.
Over 35’s Representative of over 35’s team.
Treasurer Handling of club accounts and annual financial report to AGM.
Social Convenor Fund raising and after match raffles.
In the event of a committee member standing down mid term an EGM shall be called at first available opportunity.
VOTING
Nominations
Nominations shall be made at the AGM; nominator shall be given opportunity to speak on behalf of candidate.
Each nomination shall require a seconder.
Candidates shall vacate room whilst voting takes place.
Only fully paid members or social members of the club are eligible to vote.
EGM
The signature of ten players shall be required to call an EGM.
The constitution may only be changed at an EGM/AGM.
EXPENDITURE
The committee shall deal with all club monies in such a manner, as they think is conducive to the objects of the club.
A majority of committee members must agree any expenditure.
Two committee members must be signatories of club cheques.
PLAYER REGISTRATION
Players are accorded full club membership on receipt of their full yearly subscription.
No player shall play in any competitive fixtures whilst not registered.
Any member who acts against the purpose of the club may be expelled after facing an EGM.
The committee has the power to grant yearly social memberships to the club.
The maximum number of players to be signed in the all age category shall be 35*.
The maximum number of players to be signed by the over 35’s shall be17*.
* Previous players may resign subject to league restrictions.
COMMITTEE MEETINGS
A minimum of four voting members shall be required at a committee meeting.
A committee member may appoint a proxy voter if unable to attend a scheduled meeting.
The chairman shall have the casting vote in any tied vote.
OVER 35's and "doubling up"
On the basis that all new players to join 35’s MUST be 35 or
above it was decided that this rule would be vigorously applied for all new
signings.
At registration each player will determine which squad they are registering for (All Age or Over 35). They can then double up if both coaches agree but they must have no more pitch time than any player registered for that Squad. The only exceptions to this rule would be Keepers and if registered players were injured and thus could not utilise pitch time.
